Scouting,
also known as the Scout Movement, is a worldwide youth movement
with the stated aim of supporting young people in their physical,
mental and spiritual development, so that they may play constructive
roles in society.
Association
of Scouts of Azerbaijan (Azerbaycan Skautlar
Assosiasiyasi) was founded in 1918, but
in couple of years was changed to Pioneering
(that was very close to scouting in its
core and traditions because of lack of
information, we accept the date of Scouting
founded in Azerbaijan 11th of October 1997, when
Namik Jafarov, the former president of
association gathered the first members
of the new movement and pitched the first camp in Nabran (Northern

WOSM
The World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) is the Non-governmental
international organization which governs
most national Scout Organizations, with 28 million
members. WOSM was established
in 1920 and has
its headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.
It is the counterpart of
the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts
(WAGGGS).
