Association of Scouts of Azerbaijan
(Azerbaycan Skautlar Assosiasiyasi)
was found in 1918, but in couple
of years was changed to Pioneering (that was very close to scouting
in its core and traditions because
of lack of information, we accept
the date of Scouting founded in
Azerbaijan 11th of October 1997,
when Namik Jafarov, the former president
of association gathered the first
members of the new movement and pitched the first camp in Nabran (Northern
region of Azerbaijan).
August 2007 was the Centenary Celebration for all
the Scouts round the world. First Founded by Lord Baden Powell Scout
movement in 1907 played the great and irreplaceable role in the
history of 20th century. Just for 100 years the Movement has gathered
more than 28 000 000 scout and members.
The great contribution of scouting
is the will and motivation of young people for harmony world, respect
to traditions, customs and religions of other nations, love to people
and society and your country, tolerance, intelligence, useful skills,
developing young people to become a worthy citizens and personalities.
A great role in motivation and educational activities
of youth in Azerbaijan plays Association
of Scouts of Azerbaijan. Association
of Scouts of Azerbaijan (Azerbaycan

couple of years it become possible
to obtain the headquarter office,
launch number of big projects,
international camps, represent
Organization abroad and involve
more and more members.
Thereby 20th of August 2000 ASA
was approved and became a new member
of WOSM (World Organization of Scout Movement.) for Eurasia Scout
Region.
For Today we have more than 2400
Scouts in Organization. ASA became
a member of National Assembly of
Youth Organizations of the Republic
of Azerbaijan (NAYORA). The active
work over the developing Scouting
in Azerbaijan brought us to viewable
growth and for today we have more
than 2400 Scouts in Organization.
We held over 210 activities and
events, represented our Association
in every big World Scout Event
such as international world scout
jamborees and Moots, Jotas, Jotis, Conferences, Youth
Forums, Seminars, International
Cultural Exchange programs, Community
works, Charity projects, camps

A Scout follows the rules of his
family, school, and troop. He obeys the laws of his community and
country. If he thinks these rules and laws are unfair, he tries
to have them changed in an orderly manner rather than disobeying
them.

of life. He cheerfully does tasks that come his way. He tries to
make others happy.

A Scout works to pay his own way
and to help others. He saves for the future. He protects and conserves
natural resources. He carefully uses time and property.

A Scout can face danger although
he is afraid. He has the courage to stand for what he thinks is
right even if others laugh at him or threaten him.

A Scout keeps his body and mind
fit and clean. He chooses the company of those who live by high
standards. He helps keep his home and community clean.

A Scout is reverent toward God.
He is faithful in his religious duties. He respects the beliefs
of others.
